I’ve never been that in to serums, in fact, I’ve never actually stuck to one for a long time. It’s something I seem to like the idea of but can never be bothered to commit to having it in my skin care routine.

In the last year, I’ve really upped my skin care game and taken more interest in what I’m putting on my face and body. A serum has been something I’ve wanted to try adding into my routine for a while now. I’ve been using the Peachy Fox Aloe Retinol Serum for a few weeks now and have consistently had it in my routine morning and night.

As with all products, I like to try them out before I give my opinion. Although this serum is marketed as an anti-aging product, it’s actually great for a lot more than just fine lines and wrinkles! It’s packed full of amazing natural ingredients, which I’ll get on to later, that nourish the skin. Over the last few months I’ve really researched into ingredients in products so was very excited by some of the ingredients packed into this.

The serum has ingredients that are all great for so many different purposes. It contains ingredients such as:
Marine Collagen — Fantastic when used for anti-aging purposes as it can reduce fine lines by plumping and hydrating the skin.
Jojoba Oil — This liquid wax is proven to help control natural oils and keep acne at bay. It’s frequently used in skincare made for problem skin. It’s also a great natural moisturiser that will lock in hydration.
Rosehip Oil — This oil is filled with essential fatty acids that help repair the skin. Rosehip can be used on damaged and sensitive skin as it’s extremely gentle. It’s also known for its healing properties when it comes to scarring and burns.

Of course, it has a lot more than just these three! These are the ingredients that excited me most when looking at the product. I have had acne for around 9 years now and from that, have a fair amount of scarring. Anything that is going to help with texture and pigment is worth a try for me. I’ve used rosehip and jojoba oil for years on and off and always see improvements in my skin when I do. Although the marine collagen is amazing for ageing it’s also great for plumping the skin and giving a fresh look, which I love!

The serum is a clear gel which has the most amazing scent. I’m all for natural scents as heavy artificial perfumes can really irritate my skin, especially with acne. I also find artificial/chemical perfumes to be very drying. This serum smells very fresh, you can definitely smell lavender in it, which I am a huge fan of. As always the packaging is lovely. I’ve said it before but I really feel like their packaging shows the brand really well. It’s very clean and simple, just like the ingredients they put into their products! I love the hints of pink, making it pretty and feminine. All their packaging is very light and compact, perfect for travel.

I can honestly say I feel like this product has made a really big impact on my skin. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is how soft and plump my skin feels, not just straight after using it but all the time. It sinks into the skin so fast so I never have any problems putting my moisturiser on the top or makeup on. It feels extremely hydrating when applied and keeps my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day. I really think Peachy Fox have a winner here. My skin has been changing a lot lately, it’s gone from oily to dry in the last year and I had a ‘combination’ phase too! It’s been hard adjusting to a different type of skin and finding products that agree with me. I really feel as though this product would work for any skin type as it isn’t oily, it’s a gel and is extremely hydrating.

I use around 1–2 pumps, depending on how my skin is feeling when I’m applying it. I actually use this morning and evening because I love it so much but you could just use it once a day. I do think one of the reasons I’m seeing so many effects from the serum is because I use it twice a day, of course all good! You get 30 ml of product which is an OK amount. It only retails at £13.99 so I’m happy with the amount for the price, I wouldn’t mind re-purchasing one of these a month at all and they way we’re going it looks like this may last me longer than a month! Again, this product would be perfect for travel. I can actually imagine it would be great for a long-haul flight for a boost of hydration as it’s only 30 ml you can take it on with you! Flights can dry your skin out really badly so I think this would be a great little product to keep in your carry-on!

This serum has completely changed my mind about most serums. I do think they’re completely essential in a skincare routine now. For me, it’s an extra layer of skin-loving ingredients helping me out even more. This serum is so easy to use and I think the deciding factor for me was the fact it does sink into my skin so quickly. It requires no effort at all! It also feels so refreshing which is lovely in the mornings when I’m still a little tired.

All in all, I think this is going to be a skin care staple for me for a long time now. After using it for a few weeks it’s become routine and I can’t imagine using it.
