This Week In Beer - Apr 28th 2016

Spring festival season is at its peak. Hamilton’s Food & Drink Fest and the Ontario Brewing Awards have just wrapped up. Thankfully we can look forward to the Barrie’s ‘Savour The Flavours’ food and drink show (Apr 30–31), North American Craft Beer Experience (May 5), The Beer Show in Sarnia (May 6–7), and the Albino Rhino at Brimstone Brewing in Ridgeway (May 14). Check your local listings for something in your area.

I always appreciate local food vendors and artisans at such events. There are endless chances for local adventure and pairing combinations. It also connects craft beer to our local best foods and products. Ontario’s culinary tourism embraces beer festivals, brewery tours, and other delicious activities. Our prediction is the cross-pollination of local food and beer will continue throughout the summer.

The Ontario Beverage Network’s events schedule has events large and small. Where do we start? Good thing veteran beer writers Robin LeBlanc and Jordan St. John will launch The Ontario Craft Beer Guide at Bar Hop on May 11. Both Robin and Jordan have great beer knowledge and palates. This will be essential summer reading for anyone interested in our 200+ breweries. Pre-order your copy now.

Disclosure: The Brew Box Co. did not receive compensation of any kind for recommending this read. We just think a craft beer guide is a good idea. With so many beers and events, it’s tough to know where to begin.
