I agree that the F-35 used in the right way will be a very potent tool!
Like the F-22/F-15 strategy of the F-22 being the spearheads which bind the enemy while the F-15 whith his superior payload acts like a missile truck and shoot the enemy down
The problem is, that these are all just nice work-arounds of problems appearing because the initial plane is not cheap enough to produce in big quantities.
The integrated information sharing system makes the whole thing very capable indeed, but that is an asset that can only be used against weaker enemies, (near-)peer enemies can jam the daylight out of these planes, and then these very expensive planes which will not be avaiable in big enough quantities will be just mediocre planes :P and yes you can bomb jammers but if you need some SEAD missiles, AA missiles your payload will be very very small indeed…
When you look at the history of the software of the F-35 I am actually not that optimistic, that it will ever live up to the expectations that were put in it in the beginning…
