Title: Tai Lopez On How Being a Millionaire Affects Your Overall Happiness | 1hr 20 min
Host: Lewis Howes, Entrepreneur, Investor, Athlete
- “I became an entrepreneur because I didn’t like a 9 to 5 job”
- “I’m showing people how to aspire to more”
- “I spend $100k a month on mentors”
- Tai gave $1M to charity last year
Summary: Lewis Howes, founder and host of The School of Greatness, interviews Tai Lopez, Founder and Investor. Tai discusses the importance of building wealth and happiness, as well as his is upbringing and his first taste of entrepreneurship — which interestingly enough was on a farm, and not with a tech enabled product as you would expect. Tai is continually adamant on the importance of leveraging mentorship to achieve success and discusses how he’d do it all over again if he only had $100k a year.
- Problem — People don’t aspire to greatness
- Solution — Tai leverages aspirational desires to help people aspire to more and gives them advice to get there.
Thoughts: I have always perplexed with Tai. While i’ve always appreciated his work where he certainly does inspire some great tendencies — Reading, writing, founding, investing etc. He is somewhat challenging to grasp because he doesn’t open up. That being said, I think I finally understand what he does for a living. Where most people have created businesses that are significantly easier to define, I believe Tai sells aspiration. Frankly, I think this is fantastic — I work in Venture Capital and see businesses fall to the wayside every day. Founding and creating is a hard path, and if there is a founder evangelist selling 5 hour energy for the mind, I am perfectly fine with that. Overall, an interesting podcast, with quite a few exciting discussion points.
