If anyone has missed the tweets or the various AMA’s The EgoVerse has conducted about the new Species5K collection, this article will help shed some light on this collection, the gamified mint, and all of the alpha released on it thus far. Strap in and get ready for the Species invasion!

Species Collection Stats
The Species is invading Solana with a collection comprising 5,000 NFTs. All 1 of 1’s and there will be 20 different Genomes (alien races) within the Species Collection meaning there will be 250 aliens per Genome. Just when you thought it was done, there are also 2,100 Artifacts.
The mint date has not been set just yet, but the mint price will be 0.5 $SOL. All of the Artifacts will be randomly airdropped, and the art is done by the remarkably extraordinary, SolanaVax aka SolanaVerse/Sheriff!

The Gamified Mint
This is where strategy is king! Don’t be fooled or discouraged by the phrase “a gamified mint”. This was done to create an exciting 8 week game event following the mint for a massive 165 $SOL prize pool!
The Breakdown
Starting off, the Species supply is 5000 NFTs that has 2 beginning categories, Forged and Reborn.
Forged NFTs in the collection refers to those that are minted regardless of whitelist or public sale.
Reborn NFTs are those that will be airdropped to anyone that participated in the great burn of LOS Demons, Yobis and/or Secret Files V1 & V2. Also, every 4 Alter Ego Punks you own garners a free Species airdrop.
A burn ratio point system was organized to assist the calculation of the burn that was extended for 2 additional days for The EgoVerse side collections and rewarding the Legion of SOL community after the LOS protocol dissolved and the project’s discord ceased.
Then, we have the 2 artifact airdrops. A total of 1,050 Artifacts will be randomly airdropped ONLY to Forged NFT holders and will happen when the mint reaches the 6 designated minting milestones meaning the sooner you mint, the more milestone airdrops you qualify for! The remaining 1,050 Artifacts will be randomly airdropped to holders when the 8 week gaming phase is ready to begin.
The Game
The game is where the fun really begins! Following the completion of the last half of the Artifacts airdrop, on Tuesdays for 8 weeks, a given number of NFTs will be guaranteed to survive until the next week. Think of this as a ‘buy’ for the round.
The NFTs that don’t get selected as a guaranteed survivor will need to burn a Genome-matching Artifact or a Legendary Artifact in the portal that will open every Thursday. The portal will only accept a limited amount to burn. When this limit is met, the portal will close leaving any ‘dying’ status NFT(s) to have its status set to dead, thus eliminating those NFT(s) from any further gameplay.
For example, if we start at the beginning with 5,000 NFTs, and 3,600 get selected as a guaranteed survivor, then only 400 Artifacts will be able to be burned in the portal that week on a ‘first come-first burned’ basis for survival which leaves 4,000 NFTs ‘alive’ in the game for the next week. Alpha note, a Legendary Artifact can be paired and burned in the portal for any of the 20 Genomes, look at these as your own personal wild card!
The Prizes
165 total $SOL will be awarded to the top 10 winners. The 1st place winner will get 45 $SOL. The requirements to claim a prize are as followed. An alive status Species NFT and anywhere from 1 to 10 Artifacts per prize. Each prize can only be claimed once.
This means that the 1st place prize of 45 $SOL can only be claimed with an alive NFT and 10 Artifacts. Then, in descending order to 10th place, the requirement would be an alive status NFT and 1 Artifact.
Again, this ‘gamified’ mint is where strategy is king and where DeFi friends come in handy. Also, knowing how the mint and the game work together! Strategize all the way to the top. Solo or group up with friends that hold the artifacts you will need to survive. Strategize to claim the grand prize!

The Future of the Species
As most of you may know, The EgoVerse Company has also built an FPS game “EgoVersus: The First Strike”. But, the game will soon evolve into a sci-fi shooter with a 3D model of a main character out of each Genome. There is also potential for more use cases and utility for the Species in the future.
