Just Start
Andrew Wilkinson

I recently started doing (a bit) of this. Every time I’ve done it, the outcome has been great and the results immediate. A recent example: I had an idea for a feature our company could build into our product that has potential to be really valuable. Lots of talk about it, no action. Months went by. The idea popped into my head again just recently but instead of “bringing it up” again I built a high fidelity prototype in ~60 minutes and used it as the center of real conversations with people in various departments of our company. Very different response this time than just some light conversation. This time, people said: “This is amazing and we should be building this into production immediately.” Fast action and progress towards an idea shows it can be real and is possible. It gets people very excited and moves things forward much more quickly.
