Lakers Fans Wanted Kyrie Irving | Rob Pelinka Says “We Have Kyrie Irving At Home” & His Name Is Patrick Beverley

I remember when the Sixers were a landing spot for Harden and/or KD before they went to the Nets. That entire summer was filled with more hope than a 5-year old Jewish boy on Christmas morning. And just like the Jewish boy found out when he walked downstairs, I too, had the realization that there would be no celebration after all.

That’s pretty much what Lakers fans are going through right now. All summer long the media spotlighted Kyrie Irving to the Lakers. “Kyrie & LeBron reuniting in the City of Angels.” But the Lakers were white knuckling two first round draft picks for the year 3000, and by the time they were ready to include those picks in a trade package, it was too little, too late.

Fret not! This isn’t necessarily a cause for concern Lakers fans. LA still has LeBron, AD, & Russ. Sure, maybe these guys are all past their prime, but the team still has some young talent that will surely be a cornerstone to the Laker Culture.

But wait! There’s more!

It was reported yesterday that the Lakers are including Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson in a package trade to the Utah Jazz in return for ….

PAT BEV BABY!

I don’t want to jinx anything, but considering the traffic problems in Los Angeles, I would start planning the NBA Championship parade right now if I was them. If the Lakers showed us anything last year, it’s that getting a group of washed up players, five years removed from their prime, will only lead to success and happiness, right?

I think Beverley found a great landing spot for him in LA. He’s coming off of a Championsh — wait, no not that. He’s coming off of a playoff series wi — damnit, that’s not it either. He’s coming off of first round exit in the playoffs. There it is!

But hey, at least he was in the playoffs! That’s a little bit more than what LA was able to do without Pat last year.

Not to mention the fact that Patrick Beverley just made an incredible announcement that he’s going to have his very own NBA with Barstool Sports & Philadelphia’s very own, Adam Ferrone.

If Draymond Green taught us anything during the NBA Finals, it’s that podcasting during the season is extremely beneficial and doesn’t stir up nearly as much drama as one would think.

Besides … Pat Bev isn’t known for being an overly emotional person. He’s pretty calm, cool & level-headed. I can’t see any reason to worry about a silly podcast. It’s not like he’s going to give opposing teams bulletin board material all season long.

Okay okay, in all seriousness … to all of the Lakers fans out there …. You guys are fucked. But its okay! Because you’ve been fucked since the Bubble Championship. So adding Pat Bev to the team isn’t necessarily going to make you more fucked. But you’re still going to be fucked regardless.
