When it was announced that Chris Paul was likely being waived from the Suns, I think everyone assumed Phoenix was going to build around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker this offseason. Foolishly, I thought the Suns were going to steadily build around the two superstars over the course of the next two seasons and try to create a dynasty in Arizona.

Like I said … foolish.

I should’ve known that Kevin Durant isn’t capable of playing with just one superstar. Regardless if they’re arguably a top 10 player or not, if there’s one thing you should know about KD, it’s that he’s going to form a superteam no matter where he’s playing.

Unfortunately for Phoenix, there hasn’t been a ton of success stories among superteams in the NBA recently. It feels like the days of KD going to the Warriors and winning a championship are long…
