Eswatini Chiefs Snub Magudvulela’s Lobbying Against King
Member of the royal family and one-time defender of the Tinkhundla system Senator Prince Magudvulela is lobbying chiefs around the country to revolt against His Majesty King Mswati III.
So far, his plan is failing to yield the desired results because most of the chiefs have refused to turn against the king but have chosen to remain loyal to His Majesty.
Magudvulela has been given millions of Emalangeni that are coming from Mainland China to use as bait to the chiefs for them to turn against the king.
Mainland China is one of the main sponsors of the current political unrest in the Kingdom of Eswatini because the Chinese want to put in place their own regime that will dump diplomatic relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) and establish relations with Mainland China.
Magudvulela was among the group of senators and MPs who embarked on a controversial trip to Mainland China where the plan to dethrone King Mswati III was hatched. Other legislators who were part of the trip to Mainland China are Marwick Khumalo (Lobamba Lomdzala MP), Victor Malambe (Mhlume MP) Robert Magongo (Motshane MP) and Senator Sylvia Mthethwa.
Khumalo and Magongo are openly supporting the revolt while Malambe and Mthethwa have suffered a change of heart and are keeping a distance from the activities related to the dethroning of the King.
Magudvulela has been chosen to try and influence the chiefs because he is also a chief, responsible for the Ludzibini Chiefdom in Northern Hhohho Region. Magudvulela is promising the chiefs that if they participate in overthrowing King Mswati III their traditional positions will be protected under a regime that will be put in place under the orders of Mainland China.
He is also promising the chiefs that they will be paid a monthly salary under the new regime. Magudvulela is telling the chiefs that he will have a very prominent role in the government that will be set up by Mainland China and will therefore make sure that the promises made to the chiefs are kept. Despite the promises and assurances, the chiefs are refusing to turn against the King.
The funders and architects of the regime change plan are now the handlers of Magudvulela - he has been instructed to work hand in hand with the pro-multiparty faction. It is in that regard that Magudvulela was part of the pro-change faction that attended the meeting with the SADC team that was led by S.A. President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Special Envoy Jeff Radebe last week Friday at the Royal Villas Resort.
Magudvulela is now a busy man as he travels to hold meetings with chiefs whom he calls to meet up with in hotels and other places that are not in public view. However, his handlers are not happy that he is failing to make significant progress in turning the chiefs against the king but he is telling them that he is making progress.
Magudvulela has now been given the Incwala ceremony to prove that his words of making progress are true. He has been told to make sure that chiefs do not attend the Incwala ceremony to prove that they have revolted against the King. He has also been told to stay away from the Incwala ceremony himself to show that he is indeed no longer paying any allegiance to the King.
In his chiefdom, Magudvulela has assigned people he trusts to go around telling his subjects not to attend the Incwala ceremony. He fears to come out and be the one telling the people not to attend Incwala because he fears
what might happen if the king is told of what he is doing.
Even though he is considered a weakling and loves women and material things, money has changed Magudvulela so much that he has forgotten how he has benefitted from being appointed by the King to various positions of influence.
He has been a legislator for some years now as both an MP and Senator, and is also a former member of the king’s advisory councils as well as a former board member of the Eswatini Electricity Company.
Magudvulela is a known chauvinist who is against widowed women being voted into public office. In 2013 he instructed the people of Ludzibini not to vote for Jenifer Du Pont to be their Member of Parliament for a second term because she had lost her husband and was still in mourning.
He said it was against Swazi culture and would be embarrassing to his chiefdom if the people elected a woman who was in mourning.
Magudvulela said women in mourning were barred by Swazi law and custom to hold public office. He even threatened to evict from his chiefdom anyone who voted for Jenifer Du Pont.
