2. Mount Coggill — Kilkenny

This contemporary 4 bed home is truly outstanding, situated on a 30 acre site giving the guests the optimal way to experience the county of Kilkenny.

Please note the owners make a point that due to the design of the home it is not suitable for families with young children as there are balconies and the staircase is open.

The owners live on a cottage on the grounds so are close by to assist with any needs the guests may have and can provide expert advice on the locality.

3. The Thatch Cottage — Cork

This is another beautiful thatched home which means it is truly distinctive. The cottage dates back to the 19th century making it over 120 years old, giving it tons of character.

6. Secluded Burren Lodge — Clare

This is probably this writer’s personal favorite. It has such character and is everything you would want for a truly Irish experience.

The location is tremendous, less than an hour from the Cliffs of Moher, Galway City, the Shannon river and Shannon Airport (perfect if flying in from the United States).

The finish is high end but traditional in appearance, the relaxed decor makes it perfect to wrap up and enjoy your book or watch the sunset across the Burren (a UNESCO park).

It even has a pool table for those not so friendly games between your family!

7. Mews House — Cork City

Literally overlooking Cork city, this trendy home is made for those who want the comforts of a high end home but in the middle of the bustling city of Cork.

Make sure to visit the English market while visiting, it is a must see if you are visiting Cork and is steeped in tradition and history.

8. Kilcolgan Castle — Galway

Firstly, how many times have you stayed in a castle? I would imagine the answer to that is zero, hence why we have included the wonderful Kilcolgan Castle in Galway.

Our American visitors love the castles that Ireland has to offer due to their lack of existence in North America and here is your chance to call one your home, even if it is only for a few nights!

Even better is that the castle is very well located with Connemara, the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher all within 1 hour roughly.

There is 9 acres to roam and there is even a dog which you can make friends with if you wish!

Even if it is only for one night we would think this is a once in a lifetime experience and highly recommend staying here.

9. Converted Barn on a Farm — Kildare

Located near Kilcock, Co. Kildare, this converted barn is only 30 minutes from Dublin city and Dublin Airport.

Perfect for those looking for a rural base that is well located to the capital for sightseeing before returning to peace and quiet in the evening.

The house is based on a working farm and you can see that from the picture above of Willie the pony grazing casually outside.

Boasting 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms you can be assured of your space here, making it exactly what is required for a large family gathering on that once in a lifetime trip to Ireland.

There is even WiFi for those that need to stay connected to the world and check emails (even though we know you will use it to share photos of your feet up in front of the open fire!).

10. Lake house — Monaghan

To finish of our list of the Top 10 Irish Airbnb Houses we have this splendid lake house in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.

The spacious, newly finished home has 5 bedrooms allowing up to 10 guests to enjoy the view of Emy lake which is a stones throw away.

Situated only 10 minutes from the iconic Castle Leslie, a popular wedding destination.

Many people stay here that prefer the comforts of a home when attending nuptials in Castle Leslie than a hotel room.

If you are feeling brave you can even go for a quick (very quick likely!) swim in the lake.

The iconic poet Patrick Kavanagh was born and raised in Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan which is only 45 minutes drive away from the lake house.

There are numerous golf clubs in the vicinity if that is more your thing either.
