Fossil Fuels Rear It’s Ugly Head
The Earth is a very special place. It is the perfect planet for creating and sustaining life. Imagine living on a planet where the air is not fit to eat and the food is not fit to eat. That’s the point, humans could not live on such a planet. However, our planet, with its perfect living conditions, can be taken for granted quite frequently because of one thing. Money. Companies that get revenue extracting resources from the earth are given a giant chunk of change. Some names that might sound familiar are Koch Industries, ExxonMobil, and Chevron. In fact, these companies are so bent on money that they are extracting resources that humans might not even exist to use. This planet is extremely special, but the very people that appreciate it are also destroying it. The propaganda from these companies is not very convincing. Instead of producing posters or images, they just deny all scientific evidence that what they are doing is wrong. They also try to convince the general public that they are environmentally friendly. Many politicians are also vouching for these fossil fuel companies. This is because many politicians were former executives or employees of these companies. However, plenty of people have made satirical propaganda or cartoons against these corporations. In every propaganda there are clear signs of patriotism and “freedom”. Most of the satirical propaganda pokes fun at those symbols.

The sad fact is, many people already know about this issue. It is really hard to protest against this when these corporations have all the money in the world. However, the best thing someone can do is spread awareness to enlighten people on this subject. Especially when you won the popular vote in the 2000 presidential election. In the 2000 election campaign Al Gore talked about the environment on many occasions. He even made a very interesting documentary about climate change and what it can do to the planet. People are already aware that oil and fossil fuel companies aren’t environmentally friendly. They are constantly destroying the planet every day and extracting oil that is not needed. Many oil executives give public speeches saying how each year their company has improve their environmental awareness. Overall, it is clear that these oil and fossil fuel companies need to make a change or our perfect planet will be destroyed.
