I got inspired by this re-reading Michael Matthews’ “Bigger, Leaner, Stronger.” In the introductory chapter, he mentions that his simple routines beat out all the new fitness fads about “muscle confusion” and “spot reduction.” Heavy weights on compound exercises, 6–8 reps, about 30–45 minutes of work out time.
Why does it work? Because it’s the most efficient way of doing things. You (comfortably) stress multiple muscles in a group, break them down, recover and refuel with the macros needed to build muscle.
That’s it. Smarter, not harder.
