The Laboratory upates

The Head of The Laboratory (HoL) yearns for further and more in-depth experimentation to push the boundaries of the blockchain ecosystem. With the HoL’s new team of Crazy Scientists, he can begin to push the limits. The experiments coming are unique to Cronos and all blockchains, requiring a new and highly experienced Crazy Scientist. For this, the Laboratory would like to introduce William as the HoL’s left-hand man; he is beyond crazy, insane. William has delivered the skeleton for the current DEX and the growth chambers and will return to it once CERN is complete.

William the Insane

William is a full-stack developer with 33 years of general programming experience and over 20 years of full-stack developer experience, which includes experience in e-commerce. William has been developing on top of blockchain technology for the past five years, making him an ideal candidate for leading the backend development for The Laboratory.

William prides himself as a problem solver for problems that affect community and coding. He demonstrates his problem-solving skills on Topcoder.com, has competed against the world’s top coders, and has historically placed in the top 5 internationally on more than one occasion.

CERN Laboratory

CERN Laboratory was founded in 1954, focusing on uncovering what the universe is made of and how it works with particle accelerator facilities. The CERN Laboratory has become renowned as it strives to achieve its mission:

· Provide a unique range of particle accelerator facilities that enable research at the forefront of human knowledge.

· Perform world-class research in fundamental physics.

· Unite people from all over the world to push the frontiers of science and technology for the benefit of all.

A fun fact about CERN, the World Wide Web (WWW) was invented by British Scientist Tim Berners-Lee in 1989 while working at CERN.

Inspired by CERN

Inspired by CERN, The Laboratory (The Lab) is creating an experience for its community to put their Crazy Scientist NFTs to work by conducting experiments for the Head of Laboratory.

The intent for CERN is to reward long-term community members with an adventure-like experience for staking and a degree of randomisation, similar to fighting fiends within a dungeon to finally kill the boss and be rewarded with a chance of rare loot. CERN (version 1) has over 60 outcomes across the three experiments. William the Insane will work hard to make this complex contract as gas efficient as possible and will likely cost less than a simple transaction than some DEXs on Cronos.

The Head of the Laboratory (HoL) will have experiments for Crazy Scientists to conduct to test some of his theories. Crazy Scientist participants will be rewarded for their dedication with the following rewards:
— CRO tokens
— LAB tokens
— Compound X NFT
— Compound Y NFT

Figure 3: Concept drawing for Compound Y

Compound Y appears to have rat-like features to it. More studies will need to be conducted to confirm how this compound is used on the current non-enhanced Lab rats, but this compound appears to be what is required to ascend them.

The Lab Rats were originally lab-grown as a means of support for the menial tasks within the Laboratory for the Crazy Scientists. However, the tasks became more complex, requiring more intelligent Lab Rats. Eventually, the Lab Rats were grown to be intelligent beings. The Lab Rats have slowly become more independent and coordinated and are starting to plan to reach out to other planets within the Blockchain Solar System. (Lab Rat NFTs are your ticket to join the Laboratory on other chains)

There is not a lot of information about Compound X released from the HoL, but there are rumours of some Scientists in the past who consume it and then losing all sense of reality.

Lab equipment (non NFT)

Both compounds are rare, notably Compound X, and the experiments are difficult. With LAB tokens, Crazy Scientists can enhance their chances of success by purchasing equipment for the experiments, giving better odds of being rewarded with Compound X & Y. Additionally, there is an expensive piece of equipment for those who want to essentially ‘fast forward time’ so they can skip the time it takes to experiment. However, if you have not earned any LAB tokens, then you can try your chances of experimenting without the equipment. All LAB spent on equipment will be burnt.

Head of Laboratory Experiments

As a Crazy Scientist, the HoL has three experiments available:
- Test the Gravitational behaviour of Antimatter using the Gravitational Behaviour of Antihydrogen at Rest (GBAR) (5 Days)
- ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment), create quark-gluon plasma (10 Days)
- Create Antimatter with the Antiproton Decelerator (CAAD) (20 Days)

Your Crazy Scientist will be required to commit to the experiments, so please consider your own situation before committing. The prizes are randomised, and more in-depth detail will be released in the ‘step by step CERN guide’.

William has designed CERN as a white label product that can be altered by teams that have no coding experience. Changes are made through a dashboard where prices, rewards and experiment durations. Ideal for gamified/ adventure like staking.
