Coding Made Easy — It’s As Easy As Connecting The Services!

In today's podcast, Mark and Scott talk to Mattan Griffel: entrepreneur, educator, CEO and co-founder of One Month — an education course that teaches code in one month. Mattan is also a professor at Columbia Business School and was featured in Forbes 30 under 30 in education.

Today he talks with us about his entrepreneurial journey and how it lead to One Month and wanting to teach other’s a more simple way to learn the modern code.

The best code is no code at all. If you can solve a problem without having to write a code, that’s ideal.

Mattan delves into:

His biggest challenge — Learning how to deliver the right information to beginners that have no experience with code but want to do something.

How coding has changed in the past 10–15 years — People’s fear of code is because of WHEN they started. In the last 5 years you have an evolution of the new languages.

Twitter was built in Ruby on Rails in 2 weeks, to show you how far we’ve come — Nowadays, when you’re learning “coding”, you’re not learning what you use to learn. Where it use to be you would have to study for 4 years, nowadays you’re learning something like Ruby on Rails where it’s more like connecting services together, where people have already done most of the hard work for you.

We also discuss:

— Who coding is for

— Managing a developer

— Where to get started
