Champions Regardless
Today the BP girls volleyball team lost in the state title championship game against Eden. While they may not have won the state title the members of the BP girls volleyball team are all already champions in their own rights. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the game but I did follow Michael Kelly’s twitter religiously for updates on the game. The way he was giving updates and describing the game action made the game sound like a very competitive game. That is outstanding to be able to challenge the five time current reigning state champions in such a way that they did today. But it is more than that. The girls of BP Volleyball are already champions based on the amount of time and dedication each one of them put in to make it all the way to the state finals. Time going all the way back when they were playing and winning games in August. That as well as the way they played each and everyone of their games as a unit was incredible to watch. In all the games that I attended throughout the season they always stuck together as a family. Regardless of the situation they faced nothing ever broke that family bond. The kind of team bond that high school sports programs all over the country would love to have. That is what in my eyes makes them champions. Each and everyone of those girls should smile when reflecting on the kind of program they created and the kind of season they had.
