If Trump Wins, We Deserved It

Campaign 2016: Just when the floor is found, it falls further out from under us.

A raw nerve of mine was triggered when Donald Trump, tongue-in-cheek implication withstanding, stated that he had hopes for Russian based hackers to find Hillary Clinton’s missing e-mails.

Yeah.

Okay, so the first thing that leaped to me is this idea of the modern Republican party is the one party that can keeps Americans safe.

The Republicans have created several story lines that their followers accept blindly. “Jesus was a conservative. Rock music has always been coursing through blood of every GOPer. If you wanna win the War on Terror, a Republican needs to win.” Say what you want about the Republicans — and boy howdy, am I about to — they are AMAZING at public relations.

It should be fairly obvious to the most pajama-clad casual observer that inviting the country with a shared history so frosty that we had a literal Cold War to violate international laws and hack into our systems to find deleted emails that the FBI somehow couldn’t find during a year-long investigation is pretty fucked up.

That’s not a safe thing! Those e-mails could maybe exist somewhere in the vast labyrinth of servers and hard drives and whatever-the-fuck-else computers are made of, but those e-mails are peanut shells compared to the EXTREMELY SENSITIVE INFORMATION THAT IS SURELY ALSO ON THESE SYSTEMS. I am sure you really wanna get Hillary’s goat good, but that’s not a good trade. A man with the business acumen and the supposed trade deal expertise of a Donald Trump surely understands that.

You know what? I bet he DOES understand that. I think Donald Trump is a mentally-ill, evil, and intelligent person. Like a list of ingredients on a candy bar, the most abundant substances present are listed first.

Brief aside, conservatives and this Republican Party should not be considered one in the same. They are synonymous now, and the creation of the Donald Trump character is because of the GOPs constant seed planting and propping of hate based agendas and legislation. But, there are definitely conservative ideals and principles that are good.

To illustrate this point: Using taxpayer money to build a football stadium is not a conservative idea, it is a modern Republican idea. The conservative approach is that taxpayer money, a precious commodity, should be spent on necessary public services, not to further line the pockets of a billionaire while helping him build a shinier toy on the hopes that some of that money will trickle down to the pathetic and entire populous. How is paying for a football stadium with non-private money conservative? Clearly, the Republicans also co-opted the word conservative. Neat. Suppose it is only fair that someone co-opted the Republican nomination.

And now we are one economic crash, terror event, or dark horse moment where Donald fucking Trump could become the President of the United States of America. I still don’t think he is going to win, but it’s not impossible, because a republic democracy is a fucking bitch like that.

We are a country filled with optimists and frightened souls. Realists and those with strong constitutions. Superior mental faculties and prescient instincts. I think just about everyone is intelligent in some aspect or on some subject. The pitfalls in this society stem from our harvesting of more apathy than common sense and the sense of a greater good. Too many of us are either blinded by fear, or just don’t give a shit enough to look deeper than what our friends, co-workers, or what flashy TV graphics say. This shit isn’t a fucking joke anymore.

I don’t even fucking like Hillary Clinton, and I want to vote for her ten times. If there was an actual conservative running against her that didn’t hate brown people, women, or the LGBT community, and actually had a real healthcare plan, I would be voting Republican or third-party. I am willingly bowing down to a binary electorate system in an era where we probably mostly shouldn’t because Donald Trump transcends the old lesser of two evils narrative.

I say this is a binary system because we just don’t have a viable third-party and I have NO faith that enough people will make Gary Johnson or Jill Stein viable. All those votes do is help Trump. Enough jerks are going to vote for Trump that playing the “cancel the bad guy out” game is the best play. I will happily trade my vote for a non-Trump presidency as I find any other alternative preferable. The integrity of the society I live in is greater than my own personal integrity, and I’ll sort that shit out after November.

Yes, you’re a jerk too if your plan is to vote for Trump. Fuck you. Fuuuuuuck you. Fuck you for all the stupid hot takes that are everywhere, this one included. Fuck you for letting Donald Trump, a man who said that laziness is a black trait, let his third wife use a plagiarized speech at the Republican National Convention, repeatedly stated the current sitting President of the United States is a secret Muslim, simultaneously wanting to keep Muslims out of the country because he apparently witnessed some celebrating during September 11th, endorsed the murdering of families connected tangentially to terrorism, said Mexican immigrants were rapists, suggested that a military under his command would have to commit war crimes, believes that women should be treated like shit, called climate change a Chinese hoax, and retweets white supremacists become a viable Presidential candidate. There’s no reason to support this man or to plead no-contest against him.

If Trump wins, we deserved it.
