Here is the beginning of our story
One of our co-founder thought a few months ago, “What is the most shared page on the Internet” and he didn’t found the answer. This how we decided to build the Most Shared Page of the Internet.
If this page doesn’t exist, we can build it! We know that this is not going to be easy, but that is exactly why we like this challenge, because it is nearly impossible.
Desire.
Here is why we will succeed, we want it. We want it so badly that we wake up every morning thinking about how we can increase the number of likes/tweets/shares of our page. And this willingness can move mountains.
Through some strange and powerful principle of “mental chemistry” which she has never divulged, nature wraps up in the impulse of strong desire that something which recognizes no such word as impossible, and accepts no such reality as failure.
A beautiful design
We all knew that the design of this page would be important, we want to share it on Awwwards to get a first great source of trafic and we will ! We build a perfectly crafted website that will certainly be recognized by Awwwards. We used the minimalist web-design trend approach to get this site remarked.
“Minimalist design has been described as design at its most basic, stripped of superfluous elements, colors, shapes and textures.”
As designers, we know that a minimalist design can achieve beautiful results.
How to make people share this page?
This question is at the heart of our project, what makes some people inclined to share a website on their different social networks? There’s been a lot of talk lately in the bustling world of journalism about why some newspaper and magazine content goes viral and other bits fall and fester.
This is a question the magazines and news rags are all asking, all tightly crossing their fingers that some deeply mysterious algorithm exists that bears the secret to the Almighty Viral Content.
This problem can be approached in two steps.
First, why do people share?
Second, what do they share?
Why do people share ?
It probably comes as no surprise, but people share things to make themselves feel good, one way or another. It’s very human. It’s what we do.
According to the NYT’s Consumer Insight Group, whose study consisted of 2,500 subjects, people are sharing content not only to “enrich the lives of others” in their online networks, but also to define themselves in whatever community they’ve taken part in. And we keep sharing to make sure we stay connected.
What do people share ?
We share things for a number of reasons, but it all boils down to what the researchers in the virality study call emotional valence which is the extent to which an individual is attracted or repelled by an object, event or person.
Conclusion
Now that you understand our idea, I am sure that you will be happy to share the Most Shared Page of the Internet with your friend, family, colleagues or whoever you want!
