As the art market continues to spill over into the digital world, it comes to no surprise that digital technology will begin to madly influence the output of art. We’re now entering a new kind of artistic world — a fascinating result after this colorful digital-big-bang mashup. With so many creative tools in our reach, it’s only a matter of time until we find ourselves completely awestruck with its capabilities.

A Japanese company called TeamLab is really pushing the limits to give a proper introduction to this art-tech world and to give the audience something to remember. Founded in 2001, Toshiyuki Inoko and his team brings more than 300 ultra-technologists together to produce extraordinary digital art installations. It’s normal for the team to be collaborating with 30 projects at once, while incorporating a mash up of animation, sounds, performances, the internet, fashion, and design. It is stated that TeamLab is at the heart of the digital art industry, intensely working with galleries, art festivals, and other partners to create a variety of truly captivating works.

“If we can use the digital age to expand and highlight the strengths of our culture and turn it into a new experience or expression, I believe that is something very special,” shares Mr. Inoko.

TeamLab wants to disrupt traditional media such as paintings. They focus on having the artwork change based on the presence of other viewers. Why? To simply blur the boundaries between the artwork and the viewer. This way the viewer actually becomes a part of the work itself. Digital art has this ability to allow people to interact and experience a unique beautiful feeling that the person is a part of something remarkable. This company believes that the digital domain can expand art and create a new kind of relationship.
