The Ohio Taproom’s 2nd Anniversary

May 23rd marks the end of our second year of business!

To all our customers, near and far, a sincere thank you for your support, guidance, and commitment to supporting small, locally owned businesses like ours. We’re still learning every day but have thoroughly enjoyed supporting the Ohio craft brewers and beer community — we will continue to do so as long as we’re around — all Ohio, only Ohio! To mark the entry to our third year, we aren’t going to offer any big-time specials or giveaways — sorry.

But here’s what we are doing — through our lives there are some main forces that impact us daily — family, friends, athletics, and unfortunately, cancer. Recognizing these forces, starting May 24th (the start of our 3rd year), we will make quarterly donations to three nonprofits that seek to better our community and our world.

The nonprofits we’ll be donating to quarterly are:

Steve Hall Memorial Fund — supporting the quality and character of GHHS students through the preservation of Coach Steve Hall’s memory and legacy with annual gifts to graduating seniors.

Chase Gage Memorial Scholarship Fund — supporting the notion that friendship, athletics, entrepreneurship, and love of family will create a better world.

Pelotonia — local Grandview Peloton and the James Cancer Center — 100% of proceeds go to ending cancer.

Here’s how we’ll do it — we commit to donating at least $0.50 from every transaction going forward (no time limit) to these funds (1/3 each) on a quarterly basis.

We will continue to support local youth sports teams and the numerous charities we’ve supported the last two years — but our concentration will be on the quarterly donations to foster youth development and progress and hopefully kick cancer’s ass once and for all.

Once again — thanks for all your support — it means the world to us, and will continue to help us help these worthy endeavors!

To help celebrate the end of our second year, come out to Woodlands on May 25th for the all Ohio Air Guitar Throwdown.

And lastly, we will start construction next week on a small addition and patio — fun changes afoot for our third year and beyond.
