A surprise 48 hour-before-launch announcement by Google has pushed 12 more titles that were supposed to be released on Stadia at the end of the year up to the systems launch day.

But seriously, is that (mixed with the required bandwidth needed, plus missing features at launch) enough to keep the device above water in the long haul?

Google Stadia launched yesterday on November 19th, in 14 different territories which includes USA, UK and Canada, with 22 games at launch, for an initial price of $130 for a hardware starter kit with three months of premium service, and $10 a…

GameStop has been in the news recently as there were reports of layoffs across North American and Canadian stores a few weeks ago, and now in a recent report, GameStop will be closing 200 stores following another quarter of dismal sales. Earlier this week, BBC News reported that the UK gambling commission does not consider lootboxes to be a form of gambling. While most people are outraged, others are glad that these onerous regulations stay out of the video games industry.

“The UK gambling watchdog has told MPs that it does not currently oversee the purchase of in-game content like Fifa player packs and video game lootboxes. This is because there is no official way to monetise what is inside them. A prize has to be either money or have monetary value in order for it to fall under gambling legislation.”

For many years now, parents have raised tremendous concern that their child might be addicted to video games. We’ve all heard about it, but now it’s official.

In a new ruling by the World Health Organization (WHO) that gives credit to those beliefs, the agency agreed last weekend to recognize gaming addiction as a mental health disorder which will go into effect beginning January 1, 2022. Though, to be diagnosed, a person must be playing video games so much that it ‘takes precedence over other life interests’.

During their research, experts found that some of the most critical examples of…
