25 August 2017 — Good and Evil

Since the Solar Eclipse I have noticed that one or two persons who usually had no time for me, have been very pleasant to me but I have also noticed that some of my friends and acquaintances appear to be more angry at certain situations in their lives, than previously. The Spiritual saying in my emails today is advising us to ‘ignore the evil that others do you and forget the good that you do them’. I’m not sure which I find more difficult — ‘ignoring’ or ‘forgetting’. There is no mention of ‘forgiving’ and perhaps it is easier to carry out the intention of ‘forgetting’ than actually ‘forgiving’. Another line of thought tells us that ‘what we all tend to complain about most in other people are those things we don’t like about ourselves’ (William Wharton) and this is certainly pertinent to me today — as I find I easily get upset by the remarks one acquaintance, in particular, to whom I feel I have been extremely ‘good’, makes to me such as telling me how thin I am looking and asking if I’m ill, when I have put much effort into losing weight. The thought that according to William Wharton I might be this honest, outspoken and hurtful to others I find very upsetting but think it may be the past catching up with me! However, the POINT OF POWER will be mine and so I will IGNORE AND FORGET as advised in my Spiritual Email.
