3 December 2017 — EXPECTATIONS versus GRATITUDE

Taking things for granted like assuming that because we’ve always had our health we always will have it: or thinking that because someone has always been there for us, they always will be, is an easy assumption to make. until one day this turns out not to be so. Only after the unthinkable has happened do we wish we had been more vocal in our appreciation of that person, and that we had looked after our bodies a little better.

How many of us live in the ‘IF ONLY this or that would happen’ state of mind rather than FEELING GRATITUDE for the way things are in the moment? Or, correspondingly tell our ‘selves’ that we really should do ‘this’ or ‘that’ and forget to feel pleased with our ‘selves’ for what we do manage to get done.
