6 September 2018 — Physical Tiredness versus Emotional Burn Out

Emotional Burnout I take to be that state of mind where we find ourselves incessantly going over and over the same situation and whatever happens in our lives takes second place to our mentally grinding on about our favourite grievance. This ensures that we make ourselves physically tired even if we haven’t been very physically active. And along with these physical and mental states our bodies suffer because our minds and bodies are connected. Of course we blame lack of sleep, too much physical work, others not pulling their weight at work etc etc. Or perhaps we are BEING SCAPEGOATED and it is ourselves whom others think aren’t pulling their weight at work. One consequence of ‘EMOTIONAL BURNOUT’ is that it inflicts some kind of pain on our body perhaps causing our limbs or our back to ache because our minds and bodies ARE connected.

Once we have BECOME AWARE that our state of mind is causing us to feel unnaturally tired we are able to review our situation and ask ourselves — what is it we are not happy about? What needs to change in order for us to feel mentally happier and less tired physically? How can we rectify the situation?

HOWEVER, what is obviously lacking in our lives is ‘EQUANIMITY TOWARDS PRAISE AND BLAME’. So why is our self esteem so low? Why are we not believing and trusting in ourselves? Where is our faith in the Universe that things will work out in the end? Where is our awareness that our thoughts create our reality?

I feel happy when…… What I fear is ….. I can bring joy into my life by ..What I need to forgive myself for is. what I need to forgive others for is …
