Jaded Portrait
As I wait at an intersection for the light to turn, I notice a white male adult with a sign asking for donations.
I am mystified, what transpired in this man’s life…
I marveled the idea this man exhausted all resources to attain employment and rebalance his life. It would have been nice to get an idea of his background, but the light turned green.

Did you know, “610,042 people were homeless in the United States. Nearly two-thirds of people experiencing homelessness (65 percent or 394,698) was living in emergency shelters or transitional housing programs.”- (Google US Homeless Population)
In parallel, the term resilience is sourced to describe the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties-toughness. Rehashing — redefining the American Dream is a paradoxical discussion. In layman’s terms, this dream provides a sense of resilience when faced with adversity — hope.
So the light is green and I continue to driving…I stop and deliberate; the fact I can’t find attainable employment with two bachelor degrees and a master degree.
This unblemished portrait of america is ingrained into my psyche, we will not call this the american dream; I am an affirmed follower, this portrait will provide optimism, stamina, and resilience but it will never provide consistency.

- If yourself or someone you know has credentials, but are unable to attain employment; put in perspective how those with just a high school education deal with gaining the opportunity of employment. Upward mobility is limited! .
