Silly Chauvinist

The Draft

“It was the country’s first peacetime draft. From 1940 until 1973, during both peacetime and periods of conflict, men were drafted to fill vacancies in the armed forces which could not be filled through voluntary means. The draft was ended when the United States military moved to an all-volunteer military force.” — Google

There was a period when servitude was necessary; the 1940s illustrates a time when Americans were obligated to fight for the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those who took part in the 1940s draft, deserve the highest honor.

Awaken, it is 2016, there is no draft; Americans are not endangered by foreign domination or a despotic government — yet.

Why is there a Veterans Day? Why are businesses encouraged to hire veterans?

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.”- Eleanor Roosevelt

Hold your fire; spouses, mothers, and side chicks, cheer on their significant other i.e. Servicemembers by entertaining the idea society owes them something.

Wait… Remember… Americans are not subjected to foreign domination or a despotic government — yet. As we’ve discovered these silly chauvinist are enticed by propaganda e.g. Iraq War

Lady Propaganda

“The Power Of A Woman’s g– “Women have great ability to influence others — for good or evil. Wouldn’t that be the reason the serpent approached Eve in the Garden of Eden?” — Joy Dawson

Americans have choices, why do we commend those who join the military? While on this topic, why do we praise those in law enforcement? Those who decide to serve and protect are not forced into these positions.

Are men subconsciously acclaiming masculine fame as service members or law enforcement officials to entertain their nearest and dearest — the gratification of being the knight and shining armor?

Shouldn’t we praise the disadvantaged i.e. homeless, unemployed, college students? I mean due to the recession millions lost their homes and jobs; they also sacrificed millions in the stock market e.g 401k to support the US economy. What about those who were involuntarily subjected to misfortune?

The Silly Chauvinist Fairytale

“A column in the New York Times tells us to “Blame the Princess( link is external)” for women’s preoccupation with finding the perfect wedding dress. Abby Ellin, the author, notes that “Many women still dream, feverishly, about their wedding, even those with no groom or boyfriend in sight.” According to Ellin, it’s the white gown, and not the marriage, that figures prominently in those dreams.” — Susan Krauss Whitbourne Ph.D.

Are spouses, mothers, and side chicks engrossed into a fairytale happening? Are troops & law enforcement officials seen as “A knight in shining armor.”- — the present-day use of this phrase is, of course, figurative and refers back to the notion of gallant knights saving fair maidens in distress. Are troops and law enforcement officials attributably positioned on a pedestal because these social and psychological fallacies?

Dear Mom & Dad, I Will Make You Proud…

Remember…protect and serve our socially constructed happy ending!!!
