Mia Casey, Event Coordinator
- Where are you from, and why did you move to the area?
I grew up in St. Louis, went to college in Utah, then lived in Chicago for 16 years before moving to Austin in 2014. I followed some friends down to Austin and am squatting in their casita and refuse to leave.
2. What do you like to do for fun?
I love hanging out with my friends and exploring the great food Austin has to offer. I also love spending my time volunteering with Brain Power 5k and hanging with my Little from the Big Brother Big Sister Organization.
3. What are you goals for the Private Events department?
I would like to create high quality events that are enjoyable for the group and provide the best customer service to ensure that our guests have a one of a kind experience.
4. If you weren’t working for The Range at Austin, what would your dream career be and why?
I would love to work for a non profit that raises money and awareness for brain tumors and brain cancer. Having had a brain tumor removed in 2015, I was fortunate to have found a local non profit in which I have become involved.
5. What's your favorite thing about working for The Range at Austin?
It’s obviously my co-workers and the abundance of drive-thru’s in a two mile radius! But really, I love meeting new people and having the opportunity to educate myself on firearms. Coming into this job knowing very little about guns, I love the fact that every day is a learning experience.
