“There is no sense in using the same email address for both your Facebook or Twitter account and your bank account.”

On the same note there’s no reason to include your full name, stalking victim or not.

How to set up your phone more securely:
-You may have just bought a new phone, so, check out this article too.

— Or this one, on how to create different identities online, and prevent data brokers and people finder sites from accessing your information:

Overlooked Email Risks

Dangers of Typical Emails

John.Doe@gmail.com

John.Doe@Hushmail.com (but a secure email service)

Problem: first and last name. Especially if yours is unique, where younlive, work, shop, social media, and more, can be discovered.

UniqueFirstName@gmail.com

Problem:
if you have a real unique first name, again, all the above will likely be found from it.

John.Doe.AtlantaChargers@aol.com

JohnInAtlanta@Hushmail.com

(Secure Email, not name though)

Doe.Atlanta@aol.com

Problem:
Reveals where you live!

You’re probably living in Atlanta, and, you frequent the chargers games, a local baseball team, which helps your abuser find where you might go.

Also, you’ve always had unique interests, so when they (your abuser), does creative searches looking for you online, your user name pops up on social media (twitter comment), or a data brokers, or a comment forum/club board..

Plus, Aol: doesn’t have the best security, Gmail has alot more features to keep you Safe signing into your accounts, hushmail is end to end encrypted.

Better

JD.LLC@gmail.com

D.LLC@hushmail.com

J.Bananas@hushmail.com

Pros:
it doesn’t give away your name, but only uses the 1st two initials for your name.

LLC, makes it look like a business email, without giving away the name of the business (maybe you have one, or, that’s part of your new story, that fades you away from your past).

Example
-If the abuser comes to your new town, and it’s smaller, and they are asking around about you, and you never owned a business like this before, it hides you.

Also, lots of people have initials of their name in their email, you will too, which blends in, makes sense, yet so many people will have those initials.

(Play it even safer, and have only one initial if your still worried)

J.Bananas@hushmail.com

You can also have your initial, and an interest (that’s not an interest of yours), for your personal/professional email too.

This also can be part of your new story, adding layers that makes it harder for pwople to find you, if they show up in your medium sized town.
