Top Albums of 2014
by Andrew Royster
These albums are a few of the albums I enjoyed this year. I typically like new(er) bands, less popular bands, and (apparently) bands from Nashville.
Best worship album of the year. A new and interesting musical genre.
A surprise hip-hop album that I liked. Honest, catchy, and Grammy nominated.
A good sophomore album from these guys. Fun and energetic rock.
Surprise album of the year. These guys were not on my radar before 2014. I really like this album. Great honest lyrics and great mix of sounds.
I’m a sucker for this folk-rock stuff. These Brits knock it out of the park. I like their honest and passionate lyrics.
Comeback album of the year. I was not expecting to hear another Copeland album so this was a great treat. Great lyrics. Great sound. Classic Copeland.
Lakes are professionals. This album is a Central California Coast album. It reminds me of my time on the Central Coast.
Sleepy tunes. I love to listen to this album while I’m working. It is great background music. It sounds beautiful.
Good lyrics, great beats, good sound. This is a fun album.
A classic NEEDTOBREATHE album. There are some really great songs on this album. They met my expectations with this album.
I didn't like this album as much as I liked An Awesome Wave, but it was still a good album. Such a unique sound.
I was really looking forward to this album. After a few listens it did not dissappoint. I find myself humming and sining these songs often. Great album.
It is hard to live up to great expectations. I absolutely loved Neulore’s ep Apples & Eve. I’m not sure yet if they lived up to what I was expecting. But I do know that I enjoy Animal Evolve quite a bit. I really enjoy the stories in each song. Also, the dudes in Neulore are great guys.
2014 had some good tunes.
Here hoping 2015 is even better!
Happy New Year!
