Hillary broke the law. Trump did not.

This is a letter I sent to a friend of mine who is on the staff of a Congressman.

Hey (Friend),

I cannot believe what’s coming out of DC right now. It’s indefensible.

Hillary broke the law. Trump did not. Regardless of Trump’s foul decorum, he didn’t break any laws; therefore, casting him aside gives a wink to illegal activity. What Paul Ryan did yesterday is to say that using the word “pussy” or even “grab them by the pussy” is worse than deleting 33k emails after a subpoena told Hillary not to do it. And it’s so obvious why he’s doing it: “Female voters.” He’s sacrificing a duty to enforce existing checks on executive power to save himself. Wow.

Occasionally in life, I make good decisions, and I’m glad to say that the week after Rand Paul dropped out of the race, I dropped out of the GOP because I saw this type of action as being commonplace. It’s very unfortunate.

Word on the street is that Romney associates dropped the audio tape to sabotage the Trump campaign, so what is readily apparent to me is that for a quarter century, all of us, GOP voters, have been played. We’ve been brought up believing that Hillary is the nearest thing to evil in this world, and while we finally have someone completely willing to call her out for her actions on national television, and potentially bring to light all of her corrupt activities, GOP leadership now wants her in office. Wow.

Perhaps now you understand why I’m so jaded. I’ve seen all of this coming; therefore, while it is surprising to see it unfold, it doesn’t really blow my mind. I called it. I swear, if Hillary gets into office, I will have nothing left to fight against; therefore, you guys will never get another vote from me. Ever. Why? It’s quite simple to understand in that voting will have been exposed to be a farce and without consequence; therefore, why bother?

Votes. Have done nothing to hold accountable the two most corrupt politicians in history. Have done nothing to provide unity to a movement. Have done nothing to hold leaders like Ryan accountable.

Money. Has done everything to buy off everything in public that matters. Has ensured Ryan beat his competitor in a primary (Money from outside of his district, mind you). Has kept the Clintons free for a generation.

All said and done, the level of sycophancy within Hillary voters, supported by money that pays for loyalty within media, is astounding. You guys have a tool to break it. It’s a wrecking ball, and it’s name is Donald Trump. Yet, to break it all up would mean that everyone would have to change. If it wasn’t apparent before, it is now. No one, not GOP, not Dems, no one wants to change.

It’s a sad situation we’ve found ourselves in, and I do not envy you one bit. For my life, I cannot understand why you would want to be where you are, amidst all this deceit, but maybe you can make a difference. I doubt it. I love you as a friend, but this government will not change. It is what it is.

Take care of yourself.
