Social Media Week is a leading media platform and worldwide event with local presence and global reach across five continents, including Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia. The organization hosts 2,500+ events in 25+ cities internationally with some of the world’s foremost experts, iconic brands and leading thinkers sharing their ideas and inspiration with a global audience of hyper-connected influencers.


The Workshop was hired in 2011 to help design a cohesive system which would unite the brand across all host cities around the world — equipping each hub with the creative tools and resources to host their respective Social Media Week. Since then, we’ve helped SMW with the following:

We kicked off taking a close look at the existing SMW brand. After several rounds of creative and strategic exploratory, we crafted a vibrant, future-forward 3-dimensional mark, colour and typography system which communicates their core offering — the best information, ideas and inspiration in a hyper-connected world.



Social Media Week is a real-world manifestation of some of the best that new technology has to offer — ideas, strategies and insights shared by the people who are shaping the future.


More recently we helped Toby Daniels (Founder & Executive Director of SMW) & Craig Hepburn (Global Director, Social and Digital for Nokia) with the design of their newly released book, On! The Future of Now — 20 incredible short stories from some of the worlds leading thinkers in tech, media, and entrepreneurship. All proceeds from the sale of the book go towards supporting Charity: water.
