I’m as much a fan of index funds as the next person, but here’s a totally speculative and unproven hypothesis I’ve been thinking about:

Given the recent increases in overall market pricing and forecasts for social/economic/political uncertainty on the world stage over the next X years, we may soon enter a period that sees the return to prominence of actively managed funds, especially for investors with shorter time horizons (10 years or less).
