Endless Summer, Debunked

Me thinks that the millennial survey methodology is flawed. I highly doubt you’ll find too many people who really believe that they’ll only have to work for 15 years or get an inheritance of $1MM.

The questions were probably tailored to get the result. Something like:

  1. Ideally, how long would you like to work before retirement?
  2. How much do you think you would be able to save for retirement during this period?
  3. If you need $1.5M to retire, how much money will you need from other sources (for example, inheritances) in order to retire comfortably based on the above?
