When I think of the meditative qualities of cooking and washing up, White Feather, I always come back to my favorite episode of Chef’s Table on Netflix. Eric Ripert, a French chef in New York who at one point in his career exiled himself to a Buddhist monastery in order to calm a terrible temper, visits Jeong Kwan, the chef of a Buddhist monasteryin Korea. It is one of the series’ most famous episodes. I can’t tell you how many time I have watched it.
