Outside our bubble

Thunderous clouds over tyrannical times
I can barely see my hand through this oppressive darkness.
Gone are not the days of sunshine over serene landscapes
See beyond darkness, a light exists as bright as can be.

Trapped in a loop, condemned to turn their wheels of fortune
Bent over like beggars under sacks, not looking beyond what is shown.
Free yourself from this oppression, nothing but a state of mind
Walk the path that is not taken, green and un-trodden.

Choking, hands on my throat — not strong but plenty
Ears blocked, nothing but commands being fed in.

Listen to the music of freedom, a sonata in passion
Banish the voices of reason, disregard regulation
Be the uprising in solidarity, preach to them
Chains will melt, cuffs will un-shackle, walls will fall
Do as I say, follow not even my reason –
I want nothing but to disarm you of this burden.
