A WORLD OF WORDS
Words do a lot in our world: they are influencers, and without them this world would have no colour; they give expression to all things: for all things have a name and names are given through words.
They hold time, to help us travel through it in form of stories. Not only do they introduce us to a whole new world, through them, we get to live in a world that yet is. They give us the power to tell the future through seeds, and knowledge is passed across and passed down through these limitless tools, needless to say; the possibilities are endless.
We do a lot through them, and this shows it all began by words, the moment when God spoke. If you’re in doubt, try this exercise: We know everything, every action, starts with a thought; with our thinking. Now take a couple of seconds to try thinking or imagining without words; you would see it’s impossible, as I’m sure you’ve also realized by now.
But why is that? Well, because whatever you picture has a collective name and even when broken into parts, it has individual names, therefore it is impossible to imagine without names and names are given by words.
It’s no coincidence that the Cosmos is called the “Universe”, I believe it means: collection of words “Uni-verse”; a body of words. Going by this definition, all of existence is a statement, and to bring this about, God used the power of words.
Understand this friend, every time you speak there’s a chance of creation, why is that? Because you are using the tools for creation, and the honour of using these tools was given man by God: we are the only of his creation on earth that has this power.
Let’s bring it to our world and look at something unique about words in our world, and how they operate.
There are three kinds of words in our world.
(1) Words that take a hold of you.
(2) Words that are at work in you.
(3) Words you release.
WORDS THAT ARE AT WORK IN YOU
These could be traditions, culture, principles and so on. They’re words passed on to you based on people’s perspective taught to you, and they are constantly at work in you. They form your mentality, your person; this is where you get the life of faith or fear from.
WORDS YOU RELEASE
They proceed from your heart and out of your mouth. Do you speak faith or fear, these words reveal it. They show where you are mentally, spiritually and also where you see yourself going. Believe it or not; they structure your life and future.
Jesus said you will have “whatsoever you say”
Mark 11:23 KJV: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
So examine yourself; what you have and what you don’t, you’ll therefore know what you have been saying and what you haven’t. So what’s the relationship between these words?
“Words that take a hold of you, become words at work in you and eventually the words you release.”
Jesus speaking lets us know it’s not what goes into a man that ruins him, but what comes out.
Matthew 15:11 KJV: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
So what are we to do then?
(1) Let the right words, God’s words, take a hold of you.
(2) Watch the kind of words you say (the message you are passing across) because they reveal what words are at work in you.
