What I Learned Filming This Weekend

History is one of those things I’ve never been interested in.

Yet recently history has become a hot topic here in Ireland as it is the 100th anniversary of the Easter rising.

This weekend I had the privilege of listening to talks from professors, historians, teachers, doctors and authors about the subject. The event was part of the centenary celebrations of the rebellion that took place in 1916.

What struck me was the depth of knowledge out there about what happened. It’s as if when people get interested about something they uncover a lot of information no one has ever heard of before.

The past 48 hours have opened my mind to the world of history in Ireland. A statement I never thought I’d say.

This is the day #49 of my 100 day blog challenge. If you want to join me on my journey, click the ‘follow’ button below
