The Bronx Zoo’s New Nature Trek

A graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in finance, Thomas “Tom” Avellino has been managing private investment partnerships for more than 20 years. Based in New Jersey, Thomas Avellino also has a family foundation through which he supports several local organizations, including the Bronx Zoo.

Nature Trek, a new exhibit and play area at the Bronx Zoo, is a unique experience for young zoo goers. The attraction offers a climbing structure where children can scale towers, cross bridges, and traverse elevated tunnels. They even have the opportunity to climb into a human-sized bird nest and see the world from a bird’s-eye view.

Additionally, Nature Trek includes a nature play zone where children can build beaver dams and create animal tracks in the sand. The zoo’s Nature Trek Play Partners are available to help children identify plants and animals from the exhibit, as well.
