First in the Nation to Caucus for Marco Rubio

Over the past months I’ve been trying to determine who I would be caucusing for February 1st. For the past six weeks I have been wrestling with my options as truer candidates continue to appear with every debate and others drop out or become nonexistent. As I narrowed my options one individual has continued to remain at the top. He was not my first choice when I started out for my search for the man or woman I thought was fittest to lead the nation, though that’s not to say he wasn’t on my radar.

One of my favorite things about being from the State of Iowa is that we have a great opportunity to see all the presidential candidates first hand. They actively visit us and campaign in our cities and at our events! I have had the privilege to personally meet seven of the candidates running for the GOP bid. All were impressive in their own way but the one who truly stood out to me was Marco Rubio.

I had the chance to first hear the Senator speak at a young conservative happy hour at Exile Brewing hosted by the Bull Moose Club in Des Moines. So many times I have gone to events like this one to hear what the candidates have to say only to have them rush off to an important fundraiser. Sure they’ll field a few questions but the minute their staff taps them on the shoulder they’re off. What made really stuck with me was that Senator Rubio did not leave that beer hall until he had gone around and introduced himself to every person in attendance and thank them for coming.

Last weekend I go the chance to meet Congresswoman Noem (SD) and Senator Gardner (CO) who both had travelled to Iowa to Stump for the Senator. After speaking with them and listening to Senator Rubio the next morning I chose to that he was the man I’d be caucusing for in a week. The great part about being in Iowa is that I was able to meet the Senator again last week and tell him that I was excited to have the opportunity to caucus for him.

I am certain that Marco Rubio is the best choice for America. He has grown up knowing what hard work is like and is familiar with the issues that are plaguing Americans. He believes that he owes a debt to the country that has given him and his family so much. He’s is ready to go to work for the American people to turn this country around and truly usher in a new American Century.
