Today I was reacquainted with a long lost childhood friend, Q*Bert. I absolutely love this game and I’m almost as good at it now as I was when I was ten years old. This game really holds up and offers every bit as much appeal as it did back in the eighties, when I was first introduced to this gem. Even though I was playing through an emulator, the nostalgia was flowing like an avalanche coming down the mountain. It has to have been at least twenty years since I last played this game and honestly, I would have forgotten about it all together if I had not been introduced to this magnificent website that preserves old school arcade games in all of their eight bit glory. I launched the game, which by the way is 100% free to play in the web based emulator and before I knew it, more time then I willing to admit to had vanished like a rabbit out of a magician’s hat. I have to admit that nothing compares to playing an arcade game in the original cabinet or busting out the joystick on the old commodore 64 but this experience was definitely enjoyable and I recommend that anybody with an itch to experience a blast from the past in their video gaming adventures, give this baby a go.
