But what happens if Embiid can’t stay healthy? I really hope he does but at this point I would think that is an enormous concern for that entire organization. He is clearly extremely talented but he just can’t seem to stay on the court. It would be great to see him finally move past the injuries & become a transcendent player, similar to Curry & his early career ankle issues. I recognize that Curry’s ankles still have the potential to crumble at any moment, but over the last 5 seasons, he has been able to stay healthy enough to become one of the best players in the league.
Is that the hope for Embiid? I’m not being sarcastic, I genuinely want to know what the expectation is for him. Cus the 76ers have a VERY different ceiling if he’s healthy than they do if he’s not. Maybe the better comparison is to Blake Griffin, although he obviously never fully shook his tendency to get injured. Idk, I see the potential there, I’d be crazy not to, but I think I’m less convinced than most about how optimistic 76ers fans should be. They have a hell of a lot more question marks than they do answers. Even with multiple talented young players & another one set to join them as the number 3 pick this year.
