Strength

Ever been in a situation in which your only choice is to be strong?

Because you cant crumble in front of those whose feelings are more fragile than yours

And you can’t show your pain, it is not in your place to show what you’re feeling.

And you can’t cry, because you crying would just make everything worse.

I had no choice but to stay quiet, and had no choice but to keep the pain to myself.

Two days ago, I had one of those bittersweet moments, that make a knot in your throat, that form a tear in your eye. It’s not like I was already saying goodbye, it’s not time, yet. But we realized how it was one of the last few days we would get to enjoy, worryless and having harmless fun.

So I noticed, unconceitedly how strong a human being can actually become, in multiple aspects of life, and how strong you actually have to be to show others how vulnerable you are.

We don’t notice our potential to face adversity and pain until we are, actually, facing adversity and pain, until we can’t hold that knot in out throat, until the pain in our chests is so heavy we can’t breathe and can’t talk and can’t explain.

But besides noticing, we don’t recognize, our strength, until someone points it out.

I believe everything we face in life is especially crafted to what we can achieve and overcome, so, here I am, pointing out that everything you’re facing, you can get over, because if you couldn't, it wouldn’t be you in that situation.

And if no one is there to point out how strong you are, remember to point it out to yourself, because dependability is weakness, and strength is also self-appointed.

“And if today, all you did was hold yourself together, you did great.”
