Of course, this will go down as another rant. Another Anti-Trump post along with millions of others that is starting to sound annoying like a baby going wheh wheh wheh.
I don’t care. It’s to be expressed. I want to quote a few lines from Black Eye Peas’s “ Where is the Love”.
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you’re bound to get irate, yeah
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that’s exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y’all, y’all — Black Eye Peas
From the constant media scrutiny and Trump’s absolute intolerance stance, it got me wondering — how did we allow such a person to be the figure to represent a country that stands for Freedom, Tolerance and Diversity?
I think this is also a blessing in disguise. People were forgetting about how good it is to have what they had. Entitlement was standard. With this absolute disgrace of a human-being, people will now realize what they do not like. It’s a hefty price to pay but I think in society, there will always be turning points. This is the pulling back of a sling-shot in order to propel us into a world where there will be more appreciation for good things in life.
I will now appreciate the shop owners who doesn’t give me a weird look as I enter their restaurants / store because I don’t look or act like him / her.
Acceptance was expected, and it should be a common thing; but now we know, it’s not. People will grow; society will grow. People will grow old and pass. Society will develop and change to fit those who actively care. This actually strengthens my drive to make this world a better place. For me, for my son, for all of those around me and for those who I have also never met. I’m not Superman (though I will always want to be ), but I will try to be a good person.
Yo’, whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love we’re spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feelin’ under
That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feelin’ down
There’s no wonder why sometimes I’m feelin’ under
Gotta keep my faith alive ’til love is found — Black Eye Peas
I thought that I had alot to say and alot to write about this topic, but it seems that as I started to write; I realized that there’s no need to express much. Let’s just let this pass by like Basic Training in the US Army where you’ll be ecstatic to be able to go to the convenience store whenever you feel like it. A harsh Winter where Spring will be as beautiful as ever. A reminder that every living day is a gift and that we are privileged.
A presidency that I am looking forward to it’s end instead. I think some people have felt this; that towards Barack’s end, the feeling was like reading an awesome book and not wanting to read the last chapter because that will be the end. I’m not much of a political scientist, but I know a good human being when I see one. And from what I see, I think Barack is a good human being. Donald is not.
