Ryerson Elementary School PTO
A stay-at-home mom caring for her three sons, Tiffany Hustis earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s in school counseling from Boston College. With plans to return to work as a school counselor in the near future, Tiffany Hustis plays an active role in the Ryerson Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
Through the assistance of its volunteers who commit weekly or for an entire school year, the Ryerson PTO hosts a diverse range of programs and events to involve parents of students in the elementary school. The organization also holds fundraisers to support its efforts to improve the social and educational offerings available to students.
In order to encourage communication between parents and the school staff, the Ryerson PTO invites parents to attend its meetings. These take place monthly and include discussion of upcoming events, food drives, and academics, such as STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) implementation. Those unable to attend the meetings may submit any questions, concerns, or ideas they have to any of the PTO staff members for the group’s consideration.
