Customer service is something you do and get out of? That’s really strange, as I imagine there are people who spend their entire working careers with headsets on getting yelled at.

No offense to either silicon valley or flyover states (a term, I note, which doesn’t actually appear in the original article), but if you run a business which can’t provide a living wage for everyone in the company wherever that company’s jobs are based then your business is essentially a failure.

Any company which effectively compels its employees to accept food stamps or welfare in order to get by while working there is a parasite.
