Ironically, I am currently bogged down with an employee who cannot do the job. As I work in a very large organization, bureaucratic forces are refusing to let us fire him. Even in an at-will state! Oh I would hire you in an instant, though I’m sure we can’t afford you and you’d be bored stiff. My spouse has had struggles though, and sometimes a “boring job” for a couple of years gives you space to heal.
It’s hard to imagine leaving tech though right? Especially if that’s where you find your flow. But workplaces really need to deal with and support mental health needs. Especially since they are, in most cases I’m certain, a major contributor.
