We had a bit of rain the other weekend here in Geneva, Switzerland. At the end, I went out for a stroll with the camera to see what I could find.

I was extremely pleased to come upon this large puddle with these bare trees reflecting in it. It created an excellent opportunity but it was a bit of a challenge to get it properly oriented. Something I have learned is that you really have to get very low to the ground beside the puddle to get a shot. Sometimes, the image looks ok when you are standing but I find it better when I am low down.

It was an easy choice to process this in Lightroom to a black and white tone — there was essentially no colour in the image anyway. I enjoyed how the underlying brick of the pavement emerged at the top of the tree. Intentionally exposed and processed to leave that visible.

I wonder how this will look printed up on the wall.
