Asking an entrepreneur how they’re doing has similarities to a mother shouting at her children when the phone rings. “Hey, oh my gosh, it’s so good to hear from you!” she says, and all the anger is immediately gone from her voice. Then the call is over and it’s back to shouting at the kids again.
