Too bad advocates decided it was better to try harangue and lecture the public instead of figuring out what the public actually cares about and building a message around that.

We need less of this top-down, “listen to the experts and do as you’re told” attitude in American society in general, and a more respectful stance towards the interests and needs of the average person.
