Always nice to encounter a friend on the front page of HN!

While I inherently agree with the points that you make, I am intrigued as to what the data looks like. I would imagine that many visitors are far less pragmatic / aware of what they want than yourself. The marketing copy would serve to instill interest before presenting the direct, yet (potentially) boring headline of “We do X, Y, but not Z”.

While annoying for the money-in-hand, I-need-a-solution-yesterday visitors, I would imagine these indirect product introduction strategies might have better success with converting the unwashed masses.
