Earlier today, Debbie Wasserman Schultz launched a baseless attack on our campaign and supporters like you. They falsely claimed her “opponents” (which is us) are “trying to spread lies” about her so-called “commitment to South Florida families.”
Here is the truth: Tim Canova is running a positive campaign that is focused on the real policy differences that exist between Wasserman Schultz and our political movement. We are giving a voice back to hard working Americans, while our opponent sides with the entrenched corporate establishment.
In just under three months, we went from political obscurity to become a serious challenge to “business as usual” among the political elite. That’s why they are ramping up their attacks. More will be coming, and we cannot allow them to succeed.
When we talk about Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s support for payday lenders, we are not spreading lies — she is literally co-sponsoring legislation with Republicans that would gut regulations on loan sharks. When we highlight the millions of dollars she and her PAC and her DNC have taken from private prisons and Wall Street banks, we are not spreading lies — we’ve documented many times just how much of this corporate money finds its way to her.
With your help, we have now gotten the attention of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Washington establishment. But that comes with a new set of challenges for our insurgent campaign. We need to step up our efforts to talk to the voters and spread our message all across our district and the country.
